Jumpers and Jackets

Small with several hats

I soon learnt that life is too short to get into a battle of wills over whether or not a jumper or a jacket (or a woolly hat or gloves or a scarf) are worn or not.  Small definitely reacted differently to cold than me.  If he was not cold then he was not cold.  But I did have to carry everything with me for when he decide that, actually, he was cold after all.  I tried not to moan about this and treated it as part of my job.

As a caveat, I did insist that a sun hat was worn (when it was sunny).  And sun cream (ditto).

Not so much a parenting guide full of advice, more the reality of parenting kids and being a house husband and father, written by a stay at home dad to three children.
